Libya Calls on Algeria to Open Ghadames, Ghat Border Crossings

Tripoli_ In a phone call on Monday, Mousa Al-Kouni called on the Algerian FM Sabri Boukadoum to open borders crossings between Libya and Algeria for easing the obstacles faced by both the Libyan and Algerian population on both sides.

There are two main crossings between Libya and Algeria including Ghadams crossing in the north at the end of the Tunisian southern borders and Ghat crossing in the Libyan deep south near Niger border.

Both officials discussed holding a joint ministerial meeting and a forum for businessmen of the two countries during the coming period, to discuss prospects and mechanisms of economic integration, and to activate trade exchange through the joint crossings between the two countries, according to the media office of the Presidential Council.
