Construction on New Terminal Resumes in Benghazi Airport

Benghazi_  Benina International Airport in Benghazi announced Tuesday that it has resumed the construction of a passenger terminal and it will be finished in approximately one year from now.

The construction of the terminal came to halt in 2011 as a result of the chaos and wars of that year. A Korean company was contracted to implement the project but now a subcontractor is to finish the work, a statement by airport authorities said.

Al Rayyan Holding Company is now to carry out the implementation of the project under the auspices of the Ministry of Transportation.

The terminal capacity is estimated at more than one million passengers annually and it covers 13000 square meters.
