Sanaa— In response to Israeli’s decision to escalate against the Palestinians in Gaza and expand its aggression and food blockade, the Yemen Armed Forces (YAF) they would impose a “comprehensive air blockade” on Israel and demanded that all international airlines cancel flights to Israel for their safety.
The air blockade will be directed to all Israeli airports including the Ben Gurion Airport by repeatedly targeting these airport by missiles and drones, the YAF said in a statement on Sunday.
Late on Sunday night, the Israeli security cabinet unanimously approved expanding military operations in the already destroyed Gaza Strip where a genocide against the Palestinian people has been ongoing since October 2023.
The Israeli military has sent out call-up orders for tens of thousands of reservists on the road toward widening the Gaza invasion, according to the Jerusalem Post.
“We will work to impose a comprehensive air blockade on the Israeli enemy by repeatedly targeting airports, most notably Lod Airport, known in Israel as Ben Gurion Airport, in response to the Israeli escalation with its decision to expand its aggressive operations against Gaza,” said the YAF statement.
Early Sunday morning, Israel failed squarely to intercept a Houthi ballistic missile targeted Ben Gurion Airport, exposing the Zionist state’s vulnerabilities despite persistent military attacks by the US and British forces that began months ago.
“All international airlines to take into consideration what is stated in this statement from the moment it is announced and published, and to cancel all flights to the airports of the criminal enemy, to preserve the safety of their aircraft and customers,” said the Yemeni Armed Forces’ statement.
Israel’s military operated a four-layer anti-missile system to intercept the Yemeni missile and failed, including firing its long-range Arrow interceptor and the US advanced THAAD anti-missile system.
The Israeli military said the failure to shoot down the Yemeni missile was due to a technical failure not personal, according to the Jerusalem Post.
On Saturday, thousands of Israelis gathered outside the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, urging the government to work on the release of the captives still in Gaza instead of escalating military operations against the Palestinians.
